Fuller’s brewery boost
FULLER’S profits have risen after its brewing arm was sold.
The pub group said earnings have jumped higher for the past six months after a £164.5m boost from the sale of its Chiswick brewery to Japanese company Asahi.
Pre-tax profits for the halfyear to September 28 have surged to £176.2m, compared with £20.8m during the same period last year, Revenues grew by 6pc to £174.8m despite the period of significant change.
Simon emeny, Fuller’s chief executive, said sales have continued to be solid for the rest of the year, despite a ‘context of consumer unease’ due to Brexit and political uncertainty.
Fuller’s shares remained flat yesterday at 930p.
