Injury forces Andy to drop Miami plans
ANDY MURRAY still expects to play in Australia next month, despite abandoning a two-week training camp in Miami. The 32-year-old Scot changed his plans due to lingering discomfort in his groin. He is continuing with off-court training and is expected to return to practice next week. While apparently not serious, the issue is a warning that it may not all be plain sailing next season. Murray plans to leave just after Christmas for Sydney, where Great Britain will be playing in the inaugural 24-nation ATP Cup, under the captaincy of Tim Henman. The opening group match against Bulgaria is on January 3. Kyle Edmund is training in Miami. He was the outstanding performer for Great Britain in the team’s run to the Davis Cup semi-finals but cannot play in the ATP Cup because the line-ups were decided when he was not high enough in the rankings.
