Quins need a comeback like Joshua, says Gustard

- By WILL KELLEHER

ENGLAND World Cup hero Kyle Sinckler will captain Harlequins against Ulster tonight as they try to mount a huge fightback at The Stoop to keep their European season alive. Quins lost by a point at the death in Belfast last week and now have to win all three of their remaining Champions Cup games to qualify for the quarter-finals. Quins boss Paul Gustard has decided to rest star men Joe Marler, Chris Robshaw, Danny Care and Marcus Smith. Leading the side will be Sinckler — who looks to be off to Bristol next season unless Harlequins can keep up with his wage demands. Gustard says that Anthony Joshua’s comeback win against Andy Ruiz Jr has served as inspiration for his squad. ‘It’s about taking a second chance against the same opposition,’ Gustard said. ‘Joshua spoke about looking at the first contest as an exam which he failed, and then he had an opportunity to learn and re-take it. ‘We have to have a plan which is constructed to win. If you believe it, there’s a chance — if you don’t there’s no chance. ‘We know we have the capability, players and tactical acumen to get what we want.’

TV: LIVE on BT Sport 2 from 7pm. KO: 7.45pm.
