Kate’s recipe for a lasting romance… separate homes
HER chequered love life has never quite matched her fortunes in Hollywood.
But Kate Beckinsale feels she may have finally solved the secret to a happy relationship – separate homes.
The English actress, 46, previously wed to director Len Wiseman for 12 years, suggested their romance could have lasted longer if they had their own space.
She told Women’s Health magazine: ‘I think more people would do well married if they didn’t have to live in the same house. Being married is easy, but the living-with-the-person thing is a lot.’
The Pearl Harbour and Underworld star’s feelings echo those of Bake off Host Prue Leith, 79, and Crown actress Helena Bonham Carter, 53, who have lived separately from partners.
Miss Beckinsale’s divorce from Wiseman was only made official last month. She said she is now free of feeling the weight of having to compromise to please a partner. ‘It’s quite nice to not always have to negotiate that,’ she said.
The actress has been busy on the dating scene. She had a recent fling with US comedian Pete Davidson, 26 – 20 years her junior.
Miss Beckinsale has also been linked to Jack Whitehall, 31. She shares daughter Lily, 20, with ex-partner Michael Sheen, 50.
