HOW I agree with the need to tackle the selfie scourge (Letters).

My visits to the Van Gogh exhibition at Tate Britain and Tutankhamu­n at the Saatchi Gallery in London were spoiled by people taking photos of the exhibits. The galleries are crowded and you have to queue to see each display or painting.

I didn’t appreciate having to wait longer while other people took selfies in front of the exhibits. Why don’t

they buy the guide or catalogue of profession­al photos taken in perfect lighting?

Galleries should have a ‘no photo’ policy for exhibition­s.
