THE sixth and penultimat­e season of the saucy later-life friendship comedy starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, along with Sam Waterston and Martin Sheen. The series is past its best, but still delivers colour and cheer in January.

DATING SHOW 90 Day Fiance, 8pm, TLC

THE pressure is showing for the couples awaiting U.S. visas in this new episode. The religious divide between Mike and Natalie has widened into a chasm, while property is a problem for Anny and Robert. ‘Do you love me or my apartment?’ he asks, while she rails against what she sees as his boring social life. FORMER Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond is allowed to roam the world’s largest car factory in this first of a new series, and he’s beside himself with excitement. It’s understand­able. The VW factory in Wolfsburg, Germany is almost three times the size of Monaco, and produces a new car every 16 seconds.

U.S. CRIME SERIES Instinct, 9pm, Pick

ALAN CUMMING’S hammy ex-CIA man is back working with the police again in episode two. He’s called to the scene of the even hammier murder of a venture capitalist, and the ensuing case is solidly interestin­g — but the main business here is solidifyin­g the chemistry between Dylan (Cumming) and his cop partner.

REALITY SHOW Wife Swapp USA,, 10pm,p, E4

THE mum of the Williams family (pictured) runs her household as if it were a business, describes herself as a ‘germophobe’, and dislikes cats. The Levines’ mum is a Jewish lawyer whose household has a looser approach to discipline (‘There are no rules’) — and no shortage of cats. When they swap, sparks fly, especially over germs.

VISIONARY crime thriller from British director Carol Morley (Dreams Of A Life). Patricia Clarkson stars as a detective investigat­ing the mysterious murder of an astrophysi­cist.
