Home to the Carnarvon family since 1679, the Berkshire pile is one of England’s most stunning country estates, set amid 1,000 acres of spectacular parkland. The impressive drawing and dining rooms form the backdrop to Downton, and fans can embrace their inner Dowager Countess while there. Outside, the distinctive gardens and spectacular parkland, designed by Capability Brown, are a delight to explore. The castle also has a gift shop, a gin bar, featuring its own Highclere distilled liquor, and a traditional tea room, meaning you’ll feel like a distinguished guest in no time.
