£65k a week rehab clinic opens in UK

- by Lucy White

An exclusive swiss rehabilitation centre which has treated some of Britain’s wealthiest businessmen is launching in London.

Paracelsus recovery, which charges clients £65,000 per week to treat issues ranging from depression to sex, alcohol and drug addiction, will allow clients to be visited by its team in their homes, serviced apartments, or hotels.

The firm previously only operated out of two high-end apartments in switzerland.

clients from around the world, including Hollywood Alisters, entrepreneurs and royalty, stay in the swiss apartments for a week to several months, depending on the severity of their problems.

now demand from the uK has caused Paracelsus to replicate its model in London, where burnt- out and addiction-wracked bosses will be waited on by the clinic’s team.

The service includes a consultant psychiatrist, a psychologist, a live-in therapist, and a nutritionist.

clients can also choose to take sessions with a yoga therapist, massage therapist, personal trainer and acupuncturist, in an attempt to treat their mental health illnesses and addictions holistically.

Paracelsus chief executive Marta ra visited the World economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos last week in an effort to help remove the stigma surrounding mental illness among the world’s business elite.

she told the Mail: ‘ A lot of the time, the mental health issues our clients are experiencing are caused by loneliness.

‘ When people get to the top of their industry, they are under immense pressure, and they feel that they have no one around for support. We help them find ways to deal with that.’ ra ( pictured), a former banker who has previously worked for credit suisse, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan and Morgan stanley, witnessed the effects which extreme pressure could have on senior colleagues in the finance industry. This inspired her to join Paracelsus, which was previously run by its founder Jan Gerber who launched the business in 2012. The most common clients that the clinic tends to see from the uK are entrepreneurs and senior finance industry figures, many of whom are struggling with depression, anxiety, and cocaine addiction, ra said. ra added: ‘everyone deserves to be treated and cared for.’
