EXPECT TRANSLATION ELATION!

The Gold Cup is as open as I can remember but I am a massive fan of LOSTINTRANSLATION.

I watched him win on his seasonal debut at Carlisle and was taken by his jumping ability and his high cruising speed. his Betfair Chase win at haydock in November from Bristol De Mai was excellent and he boasts top-level novice chase form from last season, including a second to Defi Du Seuil in the Marsh Novices’ Chase last year. The thing you have to forgive is being pulled up behind Clan Des Obeaux in the King George VI Chase at Kempton over Christmas. But trainer Colin Tizzard has given him an MOT since then and a breathing operation.

You have to respect last year’s winner Al Boum Photo and his Willie Mullins-trained stablemate Kemboy. If the ground was drier and the race was being run on a right-handed track, I would probably go for him. RAMSES DES TEILLES, a decent steeplechaser who holds a Grand National entry, has had a great return this season since having his sights set on hurdles. And being older and stronger, he should have a physical advantage in the three-mile Novices’ hurdle.
