MARTIN PIPE HANDICAP HURDLE
5.30: CLASS TWO — 2 MILES 4 FURLONGS
FRONT VIEW, representing last year’s winning combination, chased home Five o’Clock (stablemate Assemble third) in Grade Three company at Thurles last time and, although beaten six lengths, can narrow that gap today with a more forceful ride. Short of room, the selection compounded his misfortune with an error at the last before staying on well to take the runners-up berth. Front View also finished a highly creditable second to envoi Allen when they met in November. The form of Indefatigable took a boost when the horse that beat her here in November, Dame De Compagnie, cosily won the Coral Cup. Paul Webber’s mare recorded a career-best effort at Warwick last time, so clearly arrives here in good heart.
