CYRIL LAWRENCE,

who was top of Division One with Blackpool when football stopped for the Second World War, has died aged 99. Lawrence, who also played for Rochdale and Wrexham, was taken ill with symptoms of coronavirus in a care home on Friday and died yesterday two months short of his 100th birthday.
