Boyzone’s shane Lynch has revealed being cooped up with his wife during the lockdown has been so destructive that he has moved out of the family home.

The singer, 43, said he and sheena White were ‘at each other’s throats’ because they were not used to spending weeks on end together.

He is now ‘praying every day’ for a solution because he wants to get back to his children.

‘We’ve had difficult times and are going through difficult times right now in this isolation thing,’ he told former Hollyoaks actor Paul Danan on his Morning After podcast.

‘I’m not even in my family home right now because me and her were at each other’s throats. It wasn’t a good time or a good space.

‘I’m usually on the road and for the first time I’ve spent three months in my house.

‘All of a sudden I’m at home a lot. you find out things about relationships and it can be very difficult. It can be a struggle.’

The couple, who have a house in Redhill, surrey, married in 2007 and have two daughters Billie, 11, and Marley, seven.

Lynch – who tours with Boyzone bandmates Ronan Keating, Mikey Graham and Keith Duffy – said he hopes that this difficult patch will make them stronger but that he does not know ‘God’s plan’.

‘I pray the longer me and my wife are apart at this moment, during these difficult times, it builds a strongness so when we get back together life will continue to be amazing in the next 15, 20, 30 years,’ he said.

Lynch, who appeared on Celebrity Love Island in 2006, was previously married to easther Bennett, 47, the lead singer of eternal.

The pair got married in March 1998, but they separated two years later in

July 2000. Louise Tyler, a BACP accredited counsellor, said even though Britain was in an unprecedented time, for Lynch to move out was ‘extreme’.

she added: ‘ you would have thought they would have been able to sit down and go “how can we make this work?”.

‘I can imagine some kind of contempt had crept into the relationship and something was happening, unless it’s a very mutual decision and they’ve decided that that’s going to ease the atmosphere in the house.

They may have felt it was fairer on their children.’

Presenter Patrick Kielty, 49, has joked that his marriage to Cat Deeley, 43, is struggling in lockdown.

He told The one show viewers that his wife ‘stopped googling divorce lawyers over the weekend and started googling hitmen’.

Kielty, who has two children with the TV star, said: ‘she now says the only way she can get through this is if on a Thursday when she gets the saucepan and bangs it that she imagines it’s my face.’
