STRAIGHT TO THE POINT

-

MY WIFE and I paid £179 for two easyJet flights to Venice, Italy. With the Foreign Office advising against all but essential travel, we want a refund. But the airline says we can only have vouchers.

C. D., London.

UNDER EU law, you are entitled to a cash refund within seven days if your flight is cancelled. But, with the travel industry in chaos, many holidaymakers are being denied this right. after I contacted easyJet on your behalf, you received a full refund.

I PAY for an annual Sainsbury’s delivery pass to cover online orders. So why was I charged £4.50 for a delivery recently?

K. K., by email.

It turns out that you have two accounts linked to different email addresses, and the delivery pass is only allocated to one of these.

sainsbury’s has now helped you to close one of these accounts and offered you £30 as a goodwill gesture to ensure you are not out of pocket.

I FORGOT to pay my Vodafone bill recently, so the provider restricted my services.

I have since paid in full, but Vodafone has now passed my account to a debt collector and is threatening to terminate my contracts and send bailiffs to recover the costs.

R. M., Colne, Lancs.

VODAFONE says you owed £481 across two accounts. You made a payment of £133 and it has credited your account with £90 due to an error made by a customer adviser.

It says it has offered to merge the accounts to make payments easier. Your outstanding balance is £258.

SOMEONE used my Amazon account to buy £159.99 headphones. Neither my bank nor Amazon will refund me.

H. V-D-L., by email.

SHORTLY after contacting amazon, the retail giant refunded the money, secured your account and offered you £50 as a goodwill gesture.
