Kate’s virtual assembly for the lockdown pupils

- By Rebecca English Royal Editor

She is already home schooling her own three children.

But the Duchess of Cambridge has still found time to lead a virtual assembly for the Oak National Academy, an online service providing video lessons for parents and teachers to use during the lockdown. The academy hosts assemblies for students across the UK every Thursday morning and today’s was pre-recorded last week by Kate, 38. Dressed in a floral Marks and Spencer top costing just £25 – but reduced to £12 in the retailer’s sale – the duchess spoke on the theme ‘spread a little kindness’.

She told pupils it was import to help others feel better ‘whether offering a friendly ear or helping someone in need – small acts of kindness can go such a long way’.

As part of the assembly, Kate also joined a video call with pupils from Waterloo Primary Academy in Blackpool whose parents have been working on the pandemic frontline.
