FRASER REJECTS SHORT-TERM DEAL AND EYES EVERTON MOVE

- By ADRIAN KAJUMBA and DANIEL MATTHEWS

BOURNEMOUTH winger Ryan Fraser is hoping to land a summer move to Everton after becoming the first Premier League star to reject a short-term contract extension. The Scotland international, who has also been linked with Tottenham and Arsenal, will leave Eddie Howe’s side on June 30.

Sportsmail understands Fraser has told his Bournemouth team-mates he sees Everton as his best option. The 26-year-old would rather not risk injury by playing beyond the end of his current deal, which expires at the end of this month. The Cherries confirmed yesterday that Simon Francis, Andrew Surman, Artur Boruc and Charlie Daniels had all agreed to stay for their final nine matches. But Fraser’s seven-year stint at Bournemouth will now end as the club battles to avoid relegation. In 208 appearances, Fraser has amassed 24 goals and 33 assists. The winger, who joined from Aberdeen for around £400,000 in 2013, will be under contract for upcoming games with Crystal Palace and Wolves. But it is expected he has played his final game for the club before a free transfer this summer.
