FA OFFER WEMBLEY AS FANS TEST SITE

- By SAMI MOKBEL

THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION have offered Wembley as a test site for the re-introduction of fans amid hopes from the Government that they may return by September. Football will be played behind closed doors for the foreseeable future — but the FA have offered the national stadium as a test venue. ‘When people looked at neutral venues there were a lot of things about Wembley that were attractive which could also make it attractive for a trial,’ Mark Bullingham, FA chief executive said. ‘We’d love to help and we’re desperate to get fans back and if that’s what the Government want, we’d be open to it. We’d love to get full stadiums as soon as we can. We’re having the conversations which is positive.’ Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden said: ‘I would hope that by the return of the new season we might be in a position whereby some fans could start to return to stadiums.’
