THIS IS WHAT 63 LOOKS LIKE
Dena StemmeR is the owner of Bal Harbour Boutique in Prestwich, Greater manchester. She lives in manchester with her husband Gidon. they have three adult daughters and seven grandchildren.
TWO-STEP ROSY-GLOW
I AM diligent about wearing sun cream. I use Heliocare cream SPF 50 (£17.50, skincity.co.uk) on my fair skin. But I do like a rosy glow so I use a primer under my foundation: Blossom Colour Beauty Glow Multi-tasking Primer (£29.95, beautyandtheboutique.com).
I use Organic Jojoba Cold-pressed oil as an alternative to moisturiser (£14.95, botanicals.co.uk) to keep my skin soft.
HOME-MADE EXFOLIATOR
I MIX a handful of ground almonds in a small bowl of water for a nice, gritty exfoliation twice a week. A few times a year I go to facialist Diane Nivern for an AlumierMD Glow Peel, (from around £80, dianenivern.com) followed by Dermalux Tri-Wave Therapy (£55 for a 30-minute treatment). It produces vitamin D and stimulates collagen production.
TRY AN AYURVEDIC DIET
I’M a huge fan of Ayurveda, a herbalbased alternative medicine from the Indian sub-continent. I was introduced to it by my daughter Ilana, an Ayurvedic therapist ( kshamming.com). Eating the right foods can help digestive problems and lift brain fog. My skin glows if I stick to the plan.
DAILY ECO WORKOUT
I WALK about five miles every day if I can. But I’m also religious about picking up litter. One benefit has been that all the bending down required keeps my joints nice and supple.
TRAIN YOUR BRAIN
LAUGHTER, mental fitness and healthy competition contribute to a youthful outlook. During lockdown, I’ve been brushing up on my bridge skills using the ibridge plus app ( ibridgeplus.net). We’ve been playing card games online with friends, too. It makes us all very silly and we laugh until we cry. balharbourboutique.co.uk
