Trust in Dyche when it comes to inclusivity

-

BURNLEY are a club who have been criticised in the past for not fielding enough players from BAME backgrounds. It is a change, at least, from being hammered for selecting too many foreigners. Anyway, it was left to my colleague, Ian Herbert, to make a salient point on this two weeks ago. Thirteen per cent of Burnley’s squad is non-white which, though small by Premier League standards, equates roughly to the BAME make-up of the British population at the last census. Burnley may still have issues to deal with as a town, but its football club are wholly inclusive and have been for a long time. Sean Dyche’s team are also doing rather well on the field once again, which suggests selection and squad make-up should probably be left to him for as long as he remains at Turf Moor.
