YouTube star, 24, dies with unborn son

- By Jim Norton

A PREGNANT YouTube star has died along with her unborn son just weeks before her due date.

Nicole Thea, 24, had regularly updated her quarter of a million social media followers on preparations for the arrival of her baby, who she had already named Reign.

But the influencer’s family posted a statement over the weekend revealing that both had died. The cause of death is not yet known.

Paying tribute, her family said their hearts were ‘truly broken’ and they were ‘struggling to cope with what has happened’. Miss Thea – who was eight months pregnant – and her 20year-old partner Jeffery Frimpong, a street dancer who goes by the name Global Boga, had announced in April that they were expecting.

The couple, who lived in London, posted on Instagram: ‘We can’t hide this any longer, secret’s out. God gave us the biggest blessing yet. I’m finally creating a beautiful little human inside of me.’ It continued: ‘We are already obsessed with you our little miracle baby. Thank you for choosing us to be your parents and best friends.’

Miss Thea had posted several videos on her YouTube channel giving an open and honest account of her journey carrying her son, including a pregnancy workout and a gender reveal. In a video earlier this month, she told how the worst thing about her pregnancy was that she was ‘so out of breath 24/7’.

Mr Frimpong had also kept his 151,000 Instagram followers updated and shared a post on Saturday morning dancing with a pram.

However, a statement posted the following day to Miss Thea’s Instagram account read: ‘It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Nicole and her son she and Boga named Reign sadly passed away on Saturday morning... As a family we ask that you give us privacy because our hearts are truly broken and we are struggling to cope with what has happened.’

The tribute also included a message from her mother: ‘My beautiful baby girl Nicnac and my grandson Reign, I will miss you for the rest of my life until we meet again in eternal heaven.’

‘I will miss you for the rest of my life’
