DATING PAST?

I’vE been single since splitting with my son’s father. I’ve done some online dating, but nothing serious has come of that.

some men shower you with attention, then ghost you. It’s rather baffling.

PRE-DATE NERVES?

I fElt so nervous. I put on a navy dress and did my make-up as I would if we had been meeting in person.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS?

I was pleasantly surprised. gary said his hair had grown so much in lockdown. He sent me a photo of his pre-covid hairstyle before the date to reassure me about what he normally looks like. I was expecting shoulder-length, shaggy hair, but he looked wellgroomed and handsome.

EASY TO TALK TO? wE wErE both nervous at first but, after we’d settled in, we chatted until nearly midnight.

we talked about what our children mean to us — and how we’re both turning into Disney+ streaming addicts because of them.

I’d never seen top gun and gary said I would love it. I’ve since watched it, and I did.

He has a great sense of humour. neither of us is scared to laugh at ourselves and I find that a great quality in people.

we both like to keep active — but while I’m learning yoga, he does a fair amount of base jumping. I’m scared of heights, so maybe he can cure me of that.

EMBARRASSING MOMENTS? tHErE weren’t really any.

DID SPARKS FLY?

I DEfInItEly fancied him — his Irish accent sealed the deal. we were both flirting and I think it was obvious we were attracted to one another. He said he was sad when our date ended and that, if we were on a real date, he would have asked to kiss me. I would have said yes.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO MEET HIM IN PERSON? yEs. we’ve carried on the conversation since the date. He’s even researched how to get to where I live.

WHAT DO YOU THINK HE THOUGHT OF YOU?

HE tolD me he was attracted to me, which is always lovely to hear.

WOULD YOU INTRODUCE HIM TO YOUR FAMILY?

HE woulD get on with my family, and bond well with my brother-inlaw, who is also adventurous.
