Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, 9pm, E4

CHRIS PINE (pictured) takes on the role created by Tom Clancy and also played by Harrison Ford (twice), Alec Baldwin, Ben Affleck and, more recently, John Krasinski. Directed by Kenneth Branagh, who also plays the villain, this is a strong and slick old-school thriller.
