Not game for a laugh

-

MAY I present the Coronavirus Game, suitable for all children up to the age of ten. It has been extensively trialled by the leading politicians of all four parts of the UK over the past six months and will be on the market in good time for Christmas sales.

It is best described as the exact opposite to the age-old card game of Snap.

Players declare a set of rules for a particular aspect of the pandemic, with each insisting that their stipulations are in some way different from those already put forward by a fellow player. You must drop out if you declare a rule that has already been announced. U-turns are certainly not allowed.

It keeps the children occupied, but drives any sensible adult up the wall.

Why do the four home nations set out rules on separate days and seem afraid to be seen to be following the advice of another politician?

The school masks fiasco is only the latest example.
