Brakes on insurance

AFTER renewing my car insurance with the same company for more than 20 years (Letters), claim free, by phoning every time to haggle a reduction in the inflated premium, I had had enough.

The premium had increased by £50 while a comparison site quoted £5 cheaper than the previous year plus a £20 shopping voucher. I contacted my current insurer and stated I was only prepared to pay the previous year’s premium. I was offered a £2 discount.

Not only had they insulted me with an astronomical increase, they compounded this with such a paltry reduction. I changed insurer. PHILIP MENZIES, Hornchurch, Essex.
