Covid is a risk in pregnancy

PREGNANT women who get Covid-19 are more likely to need intensive care, a study has found.

An international team of researchers, including experts from the World Health Organisation experts, reviewed evidence from 77 studies involving 11,000 pregnant women admitted to hospital with Covid-19.

They found that pregnant women were more likely to need admission to ICU and ventilation, compared with non-pregnant women of a similar age.
