Ban plastic bags

dOUBLING the cost of plastic bags from 5p to 10p (Mail) is no deterrent. they should be banned.

I am concerned that supermarkets are providing them free in their hundreds of thousands to those who have a home delivery.

during lockdown, I had my weekly shopping delivered by tesco and received up to 15 bags every time, sometimes they each contained just one item. I asked the drivers to take them back so they could be reused, but was told this is not allowed.

Home- delivered groceries should be packed in paper bags or cardboard boxes.

KEN PARSONS, Tewkesbury, Glos. RaIsING the price of plastic bags to 10p will not make the slightest bit of difference because people will just pay it. the only way forward is to stop providing them. previous generations used their own shopping bags, so why can’t we do the same?
