Grammar stays shut after Greek trip

-

A GRAMMAR school was forced to delay reopening after a group of its A-level students caught coronavirus while on holiday in Greece.

As many as 20 teenagers who attend Sir William Borlase’s Grammar in Buckinghamshire are feared to have been infected after visiting the party island of Zante.

They are believed to have arrived back in the UK last week and were tested after one of the group developed symptoms.

The state selective school for 11 to 18-year-olds, in the historic town of Marlow, was supposed to reopen to pupils yesterday, but in a letter to parents last Friday, headteacher Kay Mountfield said this would be delayed by a week to protect other pupils.

However, yesterday she said the school would reopen today.
