sky news anchorman Mark austin says jobs in TV news are so scarce that he is unable to get his 21-year-old daughter Beatrice work. ‘My daughter has done a Masters in TV journalism at City University and is coming out and is looking at a jobs landscape that is unremittingly bleak,’ he says. ‘My daughter is really struggling to get a job in journalism. I can’t even get her a job, not that she’d want me to, and not that she’d want to come to sky while I was there. This pandemic has made things really, really difficult for young people and my heart goes out to them.’
