CHILD actors have been reunited 70 years on. Ian Plant, from Coventry, was looking for pals with whom he acted in a play at Hillshott Junior School in Letchworth, Hertfordshire, in 1949. ‘I don’t remember much about it except that I played a window cleaner — which is why I had a cloth hanging from my belt!’ he said. ‘I enjoyed my days at Hillshott and made good friends. We’ll all be in our early 80s and I haven’t been in touch with any of them since, because I moved to London. After National Service, I had a long career in retail management.’ We’ve already reconnected Ian with an RAF chum, Brian Sherwood, who saw the column. ‘I knew Ian in the 1950s when we were members of 248 (Letchworth) Squadron, Air Training Corps,’ he said. Thanks to researcher David Kilby, Ian has now been reunited with two of his fellow thespians, Pauline Jackson and Pat Sandal. ‘I’ve been in email contact with both,’ says Ian. ‘Thanks for making it possible to meet up after all this time.’
