Supporting you when you need it most

We caught up with AXA PPP healthcare to see how they support their members through the toughest times

-

With so much going on, it can sometimes be hard to keep on top of your health and get the support you need. That’s why we caught up with AXA PPP healthcare to see how they have continued to support their members during this time. Plus, if you choose to join their Personal Health plan, you’ll receive a £100 M&S gift card, or you can pick from one of four other available gifts*.

At AXA PPP healthcare we look after the health of millions of people. Helping them and their families live well every day, reassuring them when they’re worried and helping them get the care they need when they’re unwell. Over the last few months, we have had to adapt by making healthcare services more accessible remotely. We’ve therefore introduced a new range of temporary benefits, including access to a virtual GP service, Doctor@Hand, provided by Doctor Care Anywhere enabling members to speak to a medical professional about their health from the comfort of their own home.

Also, where treatment hasn’t been available due to private hospitals supporting the NHS, our Clinical Support Centre has been able to arrange remote video or phone appointments with healthcare professionals, and to pre-authorise eligible treatment so members are ready to receive the care they need as soon as it becomes available again.

As a member, we aim to support you whatever it is you’re facing. That’s why as part of our standard cover you always have access to the following:

Health at Hand – Our telephone information line enables you to speak to nurses, counsellors, midwives and pharmacists who can support you with any of your healthcare concerns. In the current climate this could be anything from managing symptoms through to coping with self-isolation and even bereavement support1 but more generally they can provide help and information on all manner of health and wellbeing questions.

Heart and Cancer nurses – When it comes to cancer and heart conditions, we understand everyone will have different needs and concerns. But that doesn’t mean you have to find your way on your own. We’ve got a team of nurses who specialise in these conditions. They’ll be a listening ear at the end of the phone to get to know you and your circumstances, so you have a safe space to air any questions or concerns and help you navigate through your treatment.

What are the other benefits of the plan?

Our core plan covers you for the treatment of new medical conditions that begin after you join. As a member, you’ll benefit from:

In-patient access to diagnostic tests such as CT, MRI and PET scans using one of 250 hospitals from our Directory of Hospitals.

Fast Track Appointments service – finding you the right specialist, at the right time and place for you. Your consultation will be covered if you include the Out-Patient option with your plan.

Access to over 36,500 specialists and other practitioners across the UK.

Extensive heart and cancer cover and care, including access to the latest licensed drug treatment to help treat cancer cells on specialist referral – which may also include those that are not routinely available on the NHS. Availability of some cover is subject to your medical history.
