RUGBY UNION Bristol Bears v Dragons, 7pm, BT Sport 2

THE Dragons take a short trip down the M4 for this European Challenge Cup quarter final. The winners will go into a semi-final against Bordeaux Begles or Edinburgh, who play tomorrow.

SCI-FI ACTION Terminator: Dark Fate, 8pm, Sky Premiere

SHE’S been absent on screen for the last three films, or has been played by younger actresses, so Linda Hamilton’s return as Sarah Connor — fighting yet another terrifying evolution of the cyborg assassins sassins — is a real thrill. Arnie is back, too.

CHART TOPPERS Top Of The Pops 1978: Big Hits, 8pm, BBC4

KATE BUSH singing Wuthering Heights, Electric Light Orchestra’s soaring Mr Blue Sky and Boney M’s ultimate disco track Rasputin are just three of the classics to feature in this round-up of hits from 1978. And, if this leaves you with a hankering for the music of 1979, then see Guy Garvey, right.

ROAD TRIP Long Way Up, Apple TV+

THIRTEEN years after Long Way Down, Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman reunite for this third motorcycle adventure, from the bottom of South America to Los Angeles — on electric bikes. They don’t make things easy for themselves. Parts one to three are available today, then more weekly.

NEW U.S. DRAMA Ratched, Netflix

RYAN MURPHY’S stylish drama is a pprequelq to One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, and stars Sarah Paulson (The People vs O.J. Simpson) as a younger Nurse Ratched (pictured). It feels a bit like Psycho, features a hypnotic guest performancep from Sharon Stone, and has a breathtaking costume budget.

SEVENTIES MEMORIES Guy Garvey: From The Vaults, 9pm, Sky Arts

THE Elbow front man’s new series is a mix of old interviews and gigs, starting in the year 1979. Guy has songs from a previously unseen Kate Bush concert, and there’s music from Dire Straits and The Police, too. And remember, Sky Arts is now available free on Freeview and Freesat.

ANCIENT MYSTERIES Rob Riggle: Global Investigator, 9pm, Discovery

AS BOTH a comedian and an ex-U.S. Marine, Rob Riggle (pictured) brings a very specific, gung-ho sensibility to this half-serious history series. In this new episode, he’s in Scotland, on the trail of the Holy Grail, and he’s happy to take a sledgehammer to ancient monuments if that’s what it takes to find his prize.

NEW YORK SITCOM High Maintenance, 9pm, Sky Comedy

A SERIES about a marijuana dealer on his bicycle doesn’t sound great, but HBO’s New York-set comedy isn’t about what he’s carrying — it’s about the ridiculous people he meets. Season four opens with courier ‘The Guy’ (co-creator Ben Sinclair) dressing up for Halloween.

DARK HUMOUR Why Women Kill, 9pm Alibi

THE love triangles take intriguing twists in the second double bill of the bubbly drama that hops between 1963, 1984 and 2019. The Eighties relationship between gay Karl (Jack Davenport) and highmaintenance Simone (Lucy Liu) is particularly nicely drawn, and is stronger than it initially looks.

DISCO MUSIC Soul America, 9.30pm, BBC4

THE final part focuses on the Seventies and Eighties, the style of cities (Philadelphia is ‘funk with a bow tie’), the sex appeal of singers such as Barry White and the rise of disco. Listen for Candi Staton’s story about the recording of Young Hearts Run Free in the disco section — it’s quite something.
