Divide and heal

-

AM I the only one who finds it hard to understand the shut down of treatment for cancer patients and others with serious conditions, owing to Covid-19 patients occupying ICu beds?

As I understand it the nightingale hospitals were built specifically to deal with Covid- 19 patients; why then are they not being treated in them and the general hospitals being kept free to deal with those requiring urgent treatment for other conditions?

PeTeR RoBINSoN, Milton Keynes, Bucks. YeARS ago TB and polio were very infectious diseases that affected not only this country but worldwide. Then we had isolation hospitals for both diseases.

Is it beyond the wit of the so-called experts to retain the nightingale hospitals for Covid patients so our nhS hospitals can get on with treating other patients on a regular and normal basis?
