Carnival sells two ships
EMBATTLED cruise operator Carnival has sold two ships to raise cash to survive the Covid crisis.
The Sun Princess and Sea Princess could each carry 2,000 passengers and were based in Australia.
Carnival, which did not reveal the price or buyer, has been one of the worstaffected stocks during the global pandemic.
It expects to rack up a £2.3bn third-quarter loss and says it will tap investors for £775m by selling new shares – despite already raising £5bn from selling bonds.
Carnival’s shares rose 1.3pc, or 11.2p, to 905p.
