LEEDS are closing on a deal worth up to £20million for Real Sociedad defender Diego Llorente. They turned to the 27-year-old centre back after seeing their other defensive target, Dinamo Zagreb’s Josko Gvardiol, choose RB Leipzig. Leeds also want to add a winger and Manchester United’s Dan James, who nearly signed for the club last year, has been discussed, although he is keen to stay at Old Trafford. ÷ BARCELONA are considerin­g a third offer for Norwich City right back Max Aarons (right) of a £5m loan plus an obligation to offer £20m next summer. They are yet to place their new bid as they compete with Bayern Munich for Ajax full back Sergino Dest. ÷ MANCHESTER UNITED have held further talks with Porto over an £18m deal for left back Alex Telles and rebuffed Roma’s latest offer for Chris Smalling. MANCHESTER CITY will try to negotiate a £55m deal for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde after the Spanish club’s Super Cup final against Bayern Munich tomorrow.
