‘We’re in deep pain’: Pop star Legend’s model wife reveals baby heartbreak on Instagram
AS A social media power couple, model Chrissy Teigen and singer John Legend have chonicled her latest pregnancy in exhaustive detail online.
But yesterday they found themselves forced to reveal the news that they had lost their baby.
While many may have shied away from the spotlight at a time of such grief, the couple were candid about their pain – and even posted black and white images of Miss Teigen crying on her hospital bed in Los Angeles and cradling her dead son who she said she had called Jack.
It followed numerous complications. On Monday, Miss Teigen, 34, told fans she

was on ‘serious bed rest’ due to bleeding and said she was ‘about halfway through her pregnancy’, which is around 20 – 24 weeks. While she already has two children concieved through IVF with Legend, 41, Jack was conceived naturally.
She explained on Instagram yesterday how doctors had been unable to stop excessive bleeding despite multiple blood transfusions as she apologised to her baby for not being able to ‘give you the home you needed to survive’.
She wrote: ‘We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever.’ She later tweeted: ‘Driving home from the hospital with no baby. How can this be real?’ The couple’s friends including Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton were among those who posted their condolences.
Miss Teigen married Tony-award winning Legend – who starred in La La Land – in 2013. They have children, Luna, four, and Miles, two. In August she said she ‘didn’t think’ she could conceive naturally,’ adding: ‘But what they say so often can be true. When you give up on trying, life has a way of surprising you.’
