KATE Garraway fought back tears yesterday as she recounted the ‘heartbreaking’ moment her husband mouthed the word ‘pain’.
Derek Draper, 53, was admitted to hospital in March after contracting Covid-19.
The Good Morning Britain presenter, 53, said on the show that she was worried the former Labour adviser was ‘giving up’ but he has now given her a glimmer of hope.
‘It’s a huge breakthrough although it’s heartbreaking because he feels pain,’ she told Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid. Mr Draper mouthed the word when hospital staff moved his leg. Miss Garraway, who also revealed her car had been stolen, hoped this is the start of his recovery.
