Amid the coronaviru­s pandemic, this year’s US election promises to be like no other. The chances of seeing a winner declared on the night are drasticall­y reduced as Americans have taken to postal voting and early ballots like never before, in an attempt to avoid crowded polling stations. Some fear counting all of the ‘mail-in’ votes could see the result delayed by days or even weeks as each candidate looks to get to 270 electoral college votes, the magic number that will hand them the keys to 1600 Pennsylvan­ia Avenue.
