Flip-flopping Boris

-

The country is at war with Covid and needs a general who can be successful in battle and avoid destroying the economy.

The cautious general, whose strategy is to be risk-averse and keep casualties to an absolute minimum, will never win the war.

The foolhardy, gung-ho general, who presses on regardless of the level of casualties, will lose the war and decimate his troops.

The pragmatic general will listen to advisers, weigh up the pros and cons, assess the level of acceptable casualties and make firm, logical and sensible decisions to achieve a satisfactory outcome.

Unfortunately, Boris Johnson was wounded early in the conflict and is now an ultra-cautious general.

his flip-flopping decisions have been driven by risk-averse advisers who use ‘what if?’ statistics.

The result is frontline troops stuck in the trenches with shell shock and trench foot while the enemy continues its attacks.

Will the economy be destroyed in a truly pyrrhic victory?

The country needs a new dynamic progressive way forward. Is Boris Johnson the man for the job?
