RAMOS SCORING MILESTONE FOR REAL MADRID
SERGIO RAMOS scored his 100th goal for REAL MADRID in a rollercoaster Group B clash against INTER MILAN at the Spanish club’s training ground. Karim Benzema fired real ahead on 25 minutes and a trademark emphatic header by centre back ramos from a Toni Kroos corner made it 2-0. Inter pulled one back when an audacious flick by Nicolo Barella freed Lautaro Martinez to finish sharply and Ivan Perisic made it 2-2 midway through the second half, only for rodrygo to drill real’s late winner. In the same group, Alassane Plea scored a hat-trick as BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH crushed hosts SHAKHTAR DONETSK 6-0 in Kharkiv. Gladbach, who conceded late equalisers in their previous group matches against Inter and real, scored four in the first half, two from French striker Plea, 27, who then wrapped it up with the sixth. In Group A, holders BAYERN MUNICH suffered a fourth-minute shock when Mergim Berisha fired RB SALZBURG ahead but robert Lewandowski equalised from the spot after enock Mwepu fouled Thomas Muller and an own goal from rasmus Kristensen put Bayern ahead. Kingsley Coman then hit the bar and although Salzburg sub Masaya Okugawa equalised, Jerome Boateng, Leroy Sane, Lucas Hernandez and Lewandowski struck late for a 6-2 Bayern win. LOKOMOTIV MOSCOW goalkeeper Guilherme pulled off a string of fine saves to hold ATLETICO MADRID to a 1-1 draw in Group A. Centre back Jose Gimenez gave Atletico the lead but a Hector Herrera handball led to Anton Miranchuk levelling from the spot.
