THE colourised footage of the tomb’s discovery brings the story to life in this documentary, but what really sets it out is the knowledge of its presenter, Elizabeth Frood. We also hear from the Countess of Carnarvon about the Fifth Earl, who bankrolled the whole enterprise.

A CHANCE to see HBO’s masterly drama from the start. It tells a family story in a most unusual setting — a funeral home — and stars an excellent Michael C. Hall as dutiful middle child David. His siblings, including prodigal son Nate (9-1-1’s Peter Krause), are far more rebellious characters.
TITANIC EVIDENCE History’s Greatest Mysteries, 9pm, Sky History
‘TITANIC . . . its very name evokes a chill,’ intones Laurence Fishburne at the start of a new series of mysteries probed by the actor. At the core of this first are unseen notes from the inquiry into the sinking, presented by Viscount Mersey, the great-great-grandson of the judge who conducted it.
