PUCOVSKI PUTS HIS ISSUES BEHIND HIM WITH DREAM DEBUT

-

OPENER Will Pucovski hit 62 on his Test debut as Australia had the better of the opening day of the third Test against India. The highly-rated 22-year-old impressed until he was trapped lbw by fellow debutant Navdeep Saini. Marnus Labuschagne ended a rainshortened day on 67 not out in Sydney as Australia closed on 166 for two. Steve Smith was 31 not out but David Warner fell for five on his return from injury. Pucovski (left) was dropped on 26 and 32 by India wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. The right-hander’s career has been hampered by mental health issues and a series of concussions.

ENGLAND WOMEN will tour Pakistan in October, taking part in two T20s and three ODIs. Heather Knight’s team will be making their first trip to Pakistan, and will be alongside the England white-ball men’s team, with the two T20s played as double-headers in Karachi on October 14 and 15.
