HAMPSHIRE
are hoping to pull off a major coup by welcoming the world’s most in-form fast bowler to county cricket this summer. Contact has been made with giant New Zealander Kyle Jamieson, 26, who has taken the Test scene by storm in taking 36 wickets in his first six appearances at an average of 13.27 — the lowest mark by any player to have bowled in a dozen innings or more since the 19th century. The 6ft 8in Jamieson’s display versus Pakistan in Christchurch earlier this week helped seal a win that sent the New Zealanders top of the Test rankings for the first time. Hampshire are also looking to re-sign Australian Nathan Lyon for part of the 2021 domestic summer after his deal last year was voided by the pandemic.
