Fined for Covid rule breach, British couple in Barbados ‘threesome’

- By Neil Sears

A BRITISH couple have been taken to court in Barbados for flouting virus rules – after allegedly hosting a threesome at their luxury hotel.

Andrew Luker and Julia Knightley had sneaked a woman into their room in the middle of the night. But the liaison fell foul of the country’s strict coronavirus rules on socialising, it was claimed.

And when police heard the English tourists had reportedly staged a threesome on their patio, they rushed to act.

Company director Mr Luker and beautician Miss Knightley, 41, have now been fined £2,200 each at a court on the island for their breach of Covid restrictions. Yet while they admitted breaking quarantine rules, they suggested their meeting with a Jamaican woman in the middle of the night was not as steamy as claimed.

They were simply entertaining a guest, who had got into the complex by climbing over the wall at 2am, they said.

Asked about the police report claiming they were all seen having sex together, Mr Luker, 46, said yesterday: ‘It didn’t happen, mate. It was all misconstrued.’

Miss Knightley is a mother- of- four who hit the headlines five years ago for posing for risque shots to promote her cosmetics clinic. She was criticised for the pictures and apologised for appearing unprofessional.

The pair had travelled to Barbados for a New Year’s break amid a toughening of Covid rules and a rise in cases on the island. Mr Luker, a plant hire boss in Rochdale, and Miss Knightley, from Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire, had flown out of chilly lockdown Britain to stay at the luxurious Treasure Beach hotel.

On arrival they were given Covid-19 tests, and told to quarantine in their hotel room until results arrived.

But they could not wait to start mixing with island residents, a court heard.

According to a police report, a hotel security guard saw Jamaican woman Mikaela Jacas climbing the perimeter wall in the early hours.

And just half an hour later, the police papers say, he saw Miss Jacas engaged in sex with both Mr Luker and Miss Knightley on the patio outside their room. Officers were called, and the couple were swiftly charged with breaking Covid-19 protocols.

They were fined a total of £4,400, but were also warned that they would be jailed for nine months if they didn’t pay within seven days.

The pair were due to fly home today but it is not clear if they have yet secured the funds to pay their fine.
