MESUT CHECKS IN WITH FENERBAHCE

- By SIMON JONES

MESUT OZIL will sign for FENERBAHCE today after finally reaching agreement with Arsenal to cancel his £350,000-a-week contract. The 32-year-old, who joined Arsenal from Real Madrid for £42.5m in 2013, took a private jet from London to Istanbul last night with wife Amine and daughter Eda. He will wear the No 67 shirt, a reference to the postcode of his ancestral Turkish hometown Zonguldak. Ozil said: ‘I’m very excited. God gave me the chance to wear this jersey as a Fenerbahce fan. God willing, I will carry it with honour. I haven’t played in a while, but I am physically fit, I have no issues.’

CHELSEA defender Fikayo Tomori is expected to finalise his loan move to AC Milan tomorrow. The 22-year-old’s deal will include a £26m option to make the move permanent. Kasimpasa, who are signing Chelsea’s Danny Drinkwater on loan, have expressed interest in free agent Ravel Morrison.

ASTON VILLA have opened talks with Marseille over a deal for £20m-rated midfielder Morgan Sanson. The 26-year-old has attracted attention from West Ham but David Moyes’s priority is a striker. So far, talks for Bournemouth’s Josh King, Reims striker Boulaye Dia and Gaetan Laborde at Montpellier have not advanced.

WEST BROMWICH ALBION are discussing a loan move for Turkey midfielder Okay Yokuslu, 26, of Celta Vigo. Albion have also discussed William Carvalho at Real Betis. They want Galatasaray striker Mbaye Diagne, but his move could be under threat after he was sent off against Besiktas yesterday for dangerous play. WOLVES striker Niall Ennis is talking to Plymouth.

CARDIFF have had a £750,000 bid accepted for Bournemouth centre back Jack Simpson. The 24-year-old is out of contract in the summer. Cardiff are also close to agreeing a deal for Crewe right back Perry Ng.
