SOCIAL media stars continued to post pictures from Dubai yesterday, apparently unbothered by the ban on direct flights to the UK.

Others who don’t work as influencers were dashing back to Britain.

Former Coronation Street actress Arianna Ajtar posted a poolside selfie on Instagram, while Love Island stars Joseph Garratt and Anton Danyluk were pictured sunbathing.

Absolutely Ascot star Mia Sully posted videos of herself dancing in bikinis and downing shots with two friends in bikinis by the pool.

Model Honey Evans tweeted: ‘Flights from Dubai to the UK are banned. Guess I have no choice but to stay out here. Shame.’

The ban on direct flights arriving from the UAE came into effect at 1pm yesterday over fears the South African strain of Covid-1 was spreading in the country.

Ministers did not announce the move until 5pm on Thursday, giving travellers less than 24 hours to beat the deadline.

Businessman Nick Powell, 66, was on one of the last flights out of the UAE which touched down in Birmingham just before 1pm. He said: ‘I run a ceramics business and I could’ve done with another ten days to schedule some more meetings, but I didn’t want to be stuck in a hotel with no flights to get home.’

Meanwhile the Foreign Office launched a campaign warning people it is illegal to go on holiday. One advert has a picture of flipflops with the words: ‘Going on holiday is currently illegal. Stay at home, Save lives.’
