After a very public split from his wife, Ioan Gruffudd appealed for privacy.

But hiding away is not for Alice evans, it seems.

Baring her soul on Instagram, the 49-year- old yesterday detailed the ‘excruciating pain’ which has left her weeping ‘all day’ since the Liar actor walked out on her. She admitted that she still loves the Welsh star to whom she has been married for 13 years, but ‘can’t see him coming back’.

Gruffudd, 47, seemingly blindsided Miss evans when he left her last week, prompting her to claim he had ‘gaslit and mentally tortured’ her in an explosive post on twitter.

the actress, who has daughters ella, 11, and elsie, seven, with Gruffudd, has now said she fears the split is permanent as ‘something has happened inside his head’.

She said she is still ‘fighting against’ the break-up for the sake of her children.

‘ Nothing to say except tHANK YOU for all the loving and encouraging messages,’ she wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of a broken heart and the words ‘game over’.

‘I never thought this would happen to us. I am still fighting against it, because I love our kids, and I still love him, but something has happened inside his head and whatever it is, I don’t see him coming back to us.’ She continued: ‘ the pain is excruciating but I am stronger than an ox, and though I weep all day when my kids aren’t looking, at night I add up figures and plan futures for us and you know what? I will do those two angels right if it’s all I ever do.’

Last week Miss evans posted a series of tweets about the split, which have since been deleted. She claimed she and her children had been left ‘very confused and sad’ by Gruffudd’s admission that he ‘no longer loves’ her. the tweet later disappeared, with Miss evans alleging that it was her husband who had deleted it from her account, not her.

the couple then released a joint statement, which read: ‘this is an incredibly difficult time for our family and we remain committed to our children. thank you for respecting our privacy.’

Gruffudd finally broke his silence earlier this week when he told photographers his family was going through an ‘extremely difficult time’. He said: ‘I’d really respect a little bit of privacy right now.’

According to the Sun, the couple had a series of tense talks about their marriage at their home in LA this week.

Last year Gruffudd admitted his marriage had suffered as they were apart so often because of work commitments. they met on the set of 102 Dalmatians in 2000 and married in 2007.
