RYANAIR CHANGE FEE
RYANAIR has extended its ‘no change fee’ policy for all flights booked before March 31. Customers can move the dates of their trip twice up until October 31, only paying any fare difference, providing this is done at least seven days before the original departure ( ryanair.com).
NEIGHBOUR-FREE FLIGHTS
WE’VE all sat next to annoying passengers on flights, so Oman Air’s new ‘ My Space’ offer looks a winner. Only available to book when you check in online, this allows passengers to block the adjacent seat for as little as ten
Omani rials (£19) in order to enhance ‘personal space and social distancing’ ( omanair.com/om/en/my-space).
EASYJET’S NEW FARE
FROM Wednesday easyJet customers will pay extra for luggage that goes in an overhead locker. The airline has introduced a new mid-price fare, available for easyJet Plus cardholders, that bundles this with priority boarding, a dedicated bag drop and a seat ‘upfront’. A less expensive option is the Standard fare, with an underseat cabin bag allowed, while the costlier Flexi fare includes hold luggage ( easyjet.com).
SCOTTISH ESCAPE
NEWHALL Mains, a collection of luxury suites and cottages with a private airfield, has opened on the Black Isle peninsula near Inverness. Double rooms cost from £95 and scenic flights can be arranged ( newhall-mains.com).
SOUTHAMPTON BOOST
BRITISH Airways will operate flights from Southampton to 11 European destinations in the summer. Launching on May 1, the BA CityFlyer routes will include Florence, Ibiza, Mallorca, Mykonos and Berlin, with fares from £66 one-way ( ba.com).
ATHENS LINK
JET2.COM will introduce services to the Greek capital from April 2022, flying from Stansted, Birmingham and Manchester. Other new summer routes include Manchester to Toulouse and Glasgow to Kos ( jet2.com).
