A 16- year- old girl was stabbed to death yesterday in a knife attack at a village Chinese takeaway which left two others seriously injured.

About 30 emergency crews rushed to the scene after screams were heard at the family business called Blue Sky, which was reportedly left ‘covered in blood’.

Neighbours claimed last night that a family row was behind the violence in sleepy Ynyswen, in the Rhondda valley, south Wales.

It is understood that the girl suffered fatal injuries in the attack and two other people thought to be her relatives were seriously injured. Last night police were questioning a man who was held a short time after the incident.

The screams were heard coming from the Chinese takeaway at about midday, when it was closed.

A neighbour said: ‘We heard that all hell broke loose.

‘The daughter has died and other members of the family were seriously injured. Somebody said it was like a bloodbath in there.’

Another resident said paramedics fought to save a female who was attacked as she sat in a car parked outside the takeaway. Kirby England, 29, who lives opposite, said: ‘He laid her on the floor and was giving her CPR. Other paramedics joined him.

‘A Chinese man was taken out of the shop, I think he’d been stabbed. They put him on a stretcher. I think there were others.’

Neighbour John Belgrove 46, said: ‘I was in my workshop when I heard sirens and saw police everywhere.

‘There was a Chinese girl sitting on a pavement. She was in her pyjamas and they were covered in blood. I could see she was sobbing.

‘ I counted about 31 different emergency vehicles. There was one elderly Chinese man walking wounded with his head all bandaged up and they put him in an ambulance.’ A younger man was treated by paramedics, he added.

The takeaway had been open for business during lockdown. Local Mavis Wakeford said: ‘ You don’t expect anything like this to happen here – it’s a quiet place. They seem like a nice family and close.’
