SISTER companies P&O Cruises and Princess Cruises are replacing overseas sailings with a series of UK short-break round trips from Southampto­n this summer. P&O’s Arcadia, Aurora, Azura and Ventura will sail in home waters until August 31, and Britannia and Iona until September 30. Regal Princess and Sky Princess will also offer week-long holidays until September 25. Spirit of Discovery will restart on June 27 and Spirit of Adventure’s inaugural cruise is now planned for July 26.

NO-GO GUERNSEY

THE ‘floral island’ of Guernsey is a cruise favourite, but ships will not be calling in during 2021. Wendy Pedder, VisitGuern­sey marketing manager, said: ‘Due to the operationa­l and logistical requiremen­ts, we have taken the decision to cancel the programme for this year.’

LEADING THE WAY

ISRAEL and Royal Caribbean are gearing up for a return to cruising. The 4,284-passenger ship Odyssey of the Seas is due to set sail from Haifa on three to seven-night cruises to Greece and Cyprus in May.
