Meghan ‘fury at the wrong shade of red’

-

THE Duchess of Sussex ‘ went mental’ at her former assistant when she ordered blankets ‘in the wrong shade of red’ for a shooting party, it was claimed yesterday.

Meghan was said to have wanted the gifts for the event she was holding at Sandringham for Harry’s friends shortly after their engagement.

A ‘ senior royal source’ reportedly said: ‘ She ordered personally embroidered blankets for each of the guests, in red. When they arrived, they weren’t the right shade of red for Meghan and she went mental at Melissa [Touabti].’

The incident was given as an example of the duchess’s ‘unattainably precise demands’.

Miss Touabti was alleged to have left the royal household ‘traumatised’ because of Meghan’s unreasonable behaviour.

And another personal assistant was also said to have left within months.

As revealed by the Daily Mail last week, Harry was said to have initially tried to smooth over issues with his new fiancee – but even his relationships with long-serving staff suffered.

The Sunday Times quoted a former aide who said the prince ‘behaved appallingly for months’ and was ‘rude, petty and stressed about so many small things’. However they said he did apologise when he was made aware of staff unrest.

The anecdotes are likely to form part of the probe launched by Buckingham Palace last week into allegations of workplace bullying by the couple, particularly the duchess.

Meghan’s PR team have swung into action against the claims however, dismissing them as a ‘calculated smear campaign based on misleading and harmful information’.
