Aerial yoga’s really gone to Hirst’s head

HAVING sold a pill cabinet for £9.6 million and a pickled shark for £9.5 million, Damien Hirst is used to turning the art world on its head. Now, he’s trying to do the same to himself.

The 55- year- old artist has taken up aerial yoga — a favourite of Sir Mick Jagger and Gwyneth Paltrow — said to relieve joint pressure and tension, enhance core strength and release endorphins. His girlfriend, former ballerina Sophie Cannell, 26, filmed the Turner Prize winner strapped into an aerial rig and hanging upside down at his £40 million Regent’s Park home.

Damien has practised yoga three times a week for years, though admits he finds it ‘quite difficult to get into chakras and stuff like that’.
